27 September 2025 (11:00 - 15:00) 28 September 2025 (11:00 - 15:00) Newhailes is a beautiful 18th-century villa set in the outskirts of Edinburgh. It was the home of the Dalrymple family for several centuries, and has been in the care of the National Trust for Scotland since 1997. Careful conservation techniques have frozen the property in time, preserving the house as it was when it was acquired by the Trust. Access to the house and grounds for a self guided experience, children’s games on the lawn and costumes. Stables Cafe - 9am - 5pm Shop and Weehailes Playpark - 10am - 5pm House - 11am - 3pm ( last entry - 2:15pm ) Estate - Dawn until Dusk 2025 Theme: Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future The beautiful Palladian architecture with its Rocco decoration throughout shows the link between, Newhailes House, the estate and the coastal town of Musselburgh. The main house is not accessible due to multiple flights of stairs inside and outside the building. Due to the age and design of the house, mobility walking frames and children's prams/buggies are not permitted inside the main house. The estate is mainly woodland areas and therefore the ground is uneven in places.
