You are welcome to visit ‘Total Strangers’, our photographic exhibition of local Glasgow Victorian Studio portraits. This exhibition is inspired by carte de viste (cabinet cards) collection from Nicolls archive first shown at the gallery in Oct 2020.
We will also be offering a cup tea and chocolate brownies, a nod to the local tea pickets at the time of the Great Rent Strike and chocolate brownies a taste of Bournville Coco ghost sign when Nicolls was first trading as confectionist & tobacconist.

Overview
Nicolls Gallery is used as an exhibition space for Artists and designers with the occasional pop up.
It is an old shop located in Thornwood, west end of Glasgow which has remained essentially unchanged since it was built. Since 1902 it has had an interesting timeline of proprietors and trading which reflect the social history of the locality and greater Glasgow over 123-year time span.
Our beautiful enamelled Bournville Coco ghost signs and Bovril glass signs bring to life to its history.
For the past 6 years Nicolls has collaborated with over 330 artists and continues to do so.
