Notte Bianca

Overview

Organised by Festivals Malta, Notte Bianca is one of Malta’s biggest annual arts and culture festivals. For one special night, every first Saturday of October, the capital city of Valletta lights up with a spectacular celebration of the arts in all its forms, open to the public completely free of charge. Valletta’s streets, piazzas, churches, state palaces and museums are transformed into venues for a myriad of live performances and concerts, while many cafés and restaurants extend their opening hours. The entire city of Valletta comes alive for Notte Bianca, guaranteeing a memorable night that truly holds something for everyone. The events unfold across the city in seven thematic routes – alternative, classics, dance, kids, theatre, red and music – which provide something for everyone in a unique combination of art and culture, traditional and contemporary, tangible and intangible. Year after year, Notte Bianca has retained its popularity amongst the Maltese population and visitors alike, with numerous visitors who attend Valletta for this one-night event.
