The Grand Festival
In 2023, the Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration reopened its permanent gallery with a completely revamped space that is more didactic and progressive, incorporating recent research on immigration in France. Based on a historical approach based on the major migratory events of the last three centuries, the new exhibition takes a chronological approach based on 11 key dates that coincide with key moments in French history. Combining archive documents, photographs, paintings, sculptures, posters, life stories, contemporary artistic creations and digital mediation tools for all ages, the museum provides each visitor with the essential elements for learning about the history of immigration and understanding that it is an indivisible part of the history of France.
