The graveyard has been closed to the public for a number of years and is part of the Church of Ireland parish of St George & St Thomas. The church itself is sited on Cathal Brugha St, Dublin 1. Early this year some remedial work at clearing vegetation in the graveyard was carried out. Thanks to the Heritage Council, further work to allow for the upgrading and conservation of this historic site, the perimeter walls and internal tombs and graces for safe access within the cemetery will be carried out. The site is surrounded by 3m high walls providing a sense of enclosure, refuge and peace, amidst housing and busy traffic. The historic nature of the site means burial of significant Irish figures, amongst them Francis Johnston, architect, can be found in the graveyard. We look forward to welcoming you for a visit.
