Language as heritage, writers and illustrators as custodians of linguistic heritage: scientific picture book The Story of a Kay

The role of writers and illustrators in preserving linguistic heritage is very important, especially when addressing children. We will show at the Days of European Heritage 2021 how to present to the youngest the importance of the linguistic heritage of the Kajkavian literary language, which has been published for 300 years and is almost forgotten today.

Visitors can read and learn expressions and solve math problems, have fun with astrology or read epidemiological advice from the first half of the 19th century in the Kajkavian language.
