Passage West Heritage-Led Regeneration Plan Community Information Event

Cork County Council is inviting members of the public to have their say on the regeneration of the heritage-rich town of Passage West.

The town received funding for a heritage-led regeneration plan from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and the Heritage Council under the Historic Town Initiative 2024.

The plan aims to identify opportunities to improve the appearance of Passage West, bring derelict buildings back into use while also highlighting opportunities to enhance and nurture the town’s attractive waterfront setting and its rich architecture. There will be a strong emphasis on regenerating Passage West’s historic town centre, increasing vibrancy and the sense of pride for the community.

An information evening takes place on Tuesday 20th August at Passage West Library from 6pm to 8pm. The event forms part of Heritage Week and will be an opportunity for the local community to share their thoughts and ideas on the historic, future and regeneration potential of Passage West.
Cork County Council are working with Studio Myco to create a heritage led regeneration plan for the historic core of Passage West. As part of the National Heritage Week, we are hosting an event to give the local community a chance to share their thoughts on the future of Passage West, all through the lens of heritage. Join us to have your say!
