PLANALAB UJI was born as an initiative for the development the Plana de Vila-real office of the Jaume I University, through a citizen participatory project. The main axes of this project are Art, Education and Heritage and are proposed from the need to establish connections and relationships between them. The PLANALAB_PATRIMONIO project was born in the 2022-23 academic year as a result of the agreement between the Vila-real City Council and the Jaume I University. The secondary schools of the municipality participated in the project. The more than 200 students of 2nd and / or 3rd of ESO worked on the dissemination of the built heritage (mostly monumental) of Vila-real. This 2023-2024 academic year will analyze historical characters or groups of workers who have built Vila-real history. These characters play a fundamental role in the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of a municipality. Either through the transmission of knowledge and traditions, through their lived experience in their profession (linked to agriculture, citrus industry or ceramics), the strengthening of a place identity and to preserve and disseminate cultural practices, customs and local history. Therefore, PLANALAB_PATRIMONIO this year will be focused on that "living heritage" understood through people. Experiences, historical achievements, trades, outstanding people, professions... *** PLANALAB UJI nace como una iniciativa para el desarrollo de la Sede de la Plana de Vila-real de la Universidad Jaume I, mediante un proyecto participativo ciudadano. Los ejes principales de este proyecto son Arte, Educación y Patrimonio y se proponen desde la necesidad de establecer conexiones y relaciones entre ellos. El proyecto PLANALAB_PATRIMONI nace el curso 2022-23 fruto del convenio entre el Ayuntamiento de Vila-real y la Universidad Jaume I. En el proyecto participaron los centros educativos de secundaria del municipio. Los más de 200 alumnos de 2º y/o 3º de ESO sumaron unos 60 trabajos sobre la difusión del patrimonio construido (mayoritariamente monumental) de Vila-real. Este curso 2023-2024 se analizarán que en todas las épocas de la historia de Vila-real han destacado personajes o colectivos de trabajadores que han construido dichos momentos de la historia. Dichos personajes desempeñan un papel fundamental en la preservación y promoción del patrimonio cultural de un municipio. Bien a a través de la transmisión de los conocimientos y las tradiciones, a través de su experiencia vivida en su profesión (ligada a la agricultura, industria citrícola o cerámica), el fortalecimiento de una identidad de lugar y a preservar y difundir las prácticas culturales, las costumbres y la historia local. Por ello, PLANALAB_PATRIMONIO este año estará enfocado a ese “patrimonio vivo” entendido a través de las personas. Vivencias, logros históricos, oficios, personas destacadas, profesiones...
