Prints of ink and thread: stamps, calligraphies...a story of the mill of Lapoutroie
Through a selection of notarized documents dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries, this exhibition immerses you in the history of a filature now disappeared in Lapoutroie, in the heart of the Kaysersberg Valley. Between official stamps, handwritten signatures and careful calligraphy, these archives tell much more than an industrial activity: they bear the visible marks of political upheavals that have crossed Alsace, between France and Germany. Ink prints, writing styles, administrative seals... every detail becomes a witness of an era, a power, a bygone world. An invitation to read history in its margins, signs and traces.
