Priorwood Garden sits within the medieval precinct of Melrose Abbey, Scotland’s first Cistercian abbey established in 1136. The excavation is a chance to learn about the history of Melrose Abbey and Priorwood garden. As well as try out the skills of an archaeologist, searching for evidence of the past and piecing together historic lives from what we might find.
