La raíz del malvavisco tiene propiedades muy beneficiosas, entre las que se encuentran las expectorantes y antiinflamatorias y es la base para este emblemático producto que fue tan habitual en nuestras confiterías: el caramelo de malvavisco. En Orduña ya se comercializaba en el siglo XIX y se ha mantenido hasta épocas recientes a través de la confitería Larrea. El Maestro Confitero A. Larrea, heredero de la receta familiar transmitirá este saber a varias personas que trabajan la pastelería artesana en el municipio. A través del Museo Orduña Hiria se realizará una demostración y presentación de este caramelo en un formato más actual, pero con los mismos principios que nos han legado nuestros confiteros y nuestras confiteras.
