Ralston - Georgetown 1170 Masonic Lodge
6 September 2025 (14:00 - 16:00) 7 September 2025 (15:00 - 17:00) Lodge Georgetown boasts a rich history of over 100 years, beginning with the construction of a munitions factory in 1915 in the new township that bears its name. Following this, a request was made to The Grand Lodge of Scotland for guidance and support to establish a lodge within this new Crown territory. Freemasonry is one of the oldest and largest fraternal organisations in the world, with approximately 6 million members globally. It provides its members with a code for living and fosters a community built on sound moral and ethical standards. We are an organisation of men who aspire to live by the principles of brotherly love, relief (charity), and truth—values that unify us regardless of colour, creed, or status. Any man who meets the criteria may join, from a refuse collector to a top judge. As a non-profit organisation, we actively support charities, local organisations, and our community. The lodge serves as a local resource and features a museum that houses artefacts, jewels, aprons, and historic memorabilia from its inception in 1918. Like many Masonic Halls known for their meticulous record-keeping, it offers opportunities to explore family history and culture within a fraternity often regarded as secretive.
