Overview

Discover the Hotel de Houdreville, current town hall of Neufchâteau and true architectural gem. Built in the 16th century, it houses an exceptional Renaissance staircase restored in 2014, which leads to a guard room on the 4th floor. Being part of the 100 straight flights of stairs in France, it is distinguished by its carved ceilings and symbolic decorations. At the same time, you will be able to explore cellars of the 15th century, unique among the 8 still existing in Neufchâteau. Built for the wealthy merchant Jean Mengin de Houdreville, they served as a storage place reflecting the commercial importance of the city located at the crossroads of the roads from Lyon to Flanders and from Champagne to Alsace. In addition to these historical treasures, you will have the opportunity to discover the office of the Mayor, as well as the wedding show.
