Meeting at the Riverside Museum we will start by examining its world-renowned maritime collection. The tour will than take us over the River Clyde and into Govan to discover the history of the river and explore the ways shipbuilding shaped the area and its communities. The tour will end at Fairfield Heritage where you can enjoy the wonderful displays and activities at your leisure. From the Viking Age to present day, the people of Govan and Glasgow have made their vision for the city a reality through the River. The tours will explore Govan as a religious site, the workshop of World and now a centre for tourism. Stories about famous visionaries such as Mary Barbour will also be told! Overview Riverside Museum is Glasgow's award-winning transport and technology museum. Located at the junction of the Rivers Kelvin and Clyde, it houses interactive displays which tell the stories behind Glasgow's social and industrial heritage. Toilet and Parking facilities for cars and bikes are available at Riverside Museum at the start of the tour. Content is not aimed at children but all ages are welcome.
