Rosscarbery Bat Walk with Ecologist Karen Loxton
Bat Walk at Forge Park Join Wildworks Ecologist Karen Loxton for a fascinating introduction to bats, followed by an evening walk to watch them in action. A bat detector will be available so you can hear their unique high-frequency calls, and you’ll have the chance to see local bats foraging at dusk. Forge Park, managed by Rosscarbery Tidy Towns Association for biodiversity and as a pollinator corridor, is a wonderful place to explore. There are several picnic benches, so feel free to arrive early and enjoy the surroundings. Details: Who’s welcome? Everyone – children included! What to bring/wear: Sturdy footwear (the road camber is uneven), weather-appropriate clothing, and a torch if you have one. Come along for an evening of nature, learning, and community. Karen developed the New Biodiversity Action Plan for Rosscarbery, which is available to download from https://www.rosscarberytidytowns.ie/blog-post
