Overview:
The Roystonhill Spire was built as the Townhead Church by the Church of Scotland in 1856, with contributions from William Morris, John Mossman and Daniel Cottier. Only the Spire remains today, following a campaign to save it by Rosemount Development Trust.
Rosemount Development Trust previously secured funding to carry out an oral history project on the Roystonhill Spire, environmental improvements to the Spire Park, and a public art and heritage project which helped local people of all generations to get involved in creating mosaics depicting local history.
Spire View Housing Association’s Royston Creative Heritage project seeks to open up the perception of heritage and increase accessibility for the diverse demographics and experiences that make up Royston as a community, through public exhibitions, publications and social media. This project is made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Glasgow Communities Fund.
We have limited street parking at the venue.
