SCIENTIFIC-PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE / Historic Cores of Small Towns - Revitalization and Local Communities
The scientific-professional multidisciplinary conference is dedicated to small historic towns that represent a characteristic of Croatian and European space. Numerous small towns are characterized by similar century-long development that has left rich cultural-historical heritage, layers of historical architecture, specific crafts and industry, multicultural and multiethnic environments. Through their presentations, experts from Croatia, Slovenia and other European countries will analyze contemporary processes that affect historic city cores and present examples of good practice in integrating cultural heritage into urban development. Focusing on sustainable heritage preservation policies and active involvement of local communities in heritage management, the program includes professional guidance through the oldest core of Samobor (Taborac), a visit to the Old Crafts Fair, and consideration of its revitalization and tour of Skender Fabković's house.
