Metaphor of Proto-Slavic reality
European Slavic peoples inherit a common religious background, or a set of myths that vividly explain the origin of the world and natural phenomena. Metaphorical and symbolic stories and traditions of Proto-Slavic mythology are present in all Slavs, and they are inherited on the soil of Konavle, where we still find their traces in physical space, most often in toponyms, oral tradition and accompanying customs.
Konavle County Museum
It was founded in 1974 at the request of the Čilipi Tourism Association for the purpose of presenting additional deals and packages during the Sunday folklore performances. The house in which the museum is located in the middle of Čilipi was built in 1909 for the requirements of the rural savings society and cultural club. Prior to the Homeland War of 1991, the museum was furbished as a typical Konavle house with exhibits of men’s and women’s national dress and embroidery.
