During your visit, our friendly team will be on hand to welcome you, offer insights, and answer any questions you may have. Come and explore the stories, techniques, and creativity that shape our space and our work. Overview: The Scottish Glass Society (SGS) is a not for profit organisation (Scottish Charity SC025543) whose primary aim is to promote glass as an artistic medium. Members are artists based across Scotland, working alone, or in groups, who use a range of techniques including casting, engraving, and fusing, to create objects. The Scottish Glass Society has challenged its members with the theme “Alchemy”. In the exhibition, each piece represents the culmination of skill, intuition, and the alchemical process of transformation. Just as alchemists of the past sought to transmute base elements into gold, contemporary glass artists manipulate raw materials into extraordinary forms that challenge our understanding of what glass can be. There is direct external wheelchair access to the gallery if required, or arrival via the lift.
