Overview
SMPC is a specialist Arts Centre dedicated to masks and puppets and has been in its current building since 1989. The Centre houses a theatre with an annual Family and Children’s Programme of events https://www.maskandpuppet.co.uk/what-s-on including puppet and magic shows. It has a café, displays, exhibitions, library, Grant Mason Film FX, production and design workshops, office space and free parking to the rear of the building. All housed in a former GCC Cleansing Department and often described as a "wee hidden gem", “a jewel in a box" or “a chocolate box with the treats inside”.
Our building is an example of regeneration and sustainable growth and development, to enable survival as an arts organisation in the city in a period in time when funding for the arts continues to be cut or is non-existent.
All Access Ground Floor with Disabled Ramp to the Rear of the Building. There is room in our car park at the rear of the building for bikes. If it’s a sunny day, there will be outside seating and tables too.
