Our Production Studios are the hub of Scottish Opera and house our Technical Departments.
Join us for a special behind-the-scenes tour of our Production Studios as we celebrate Glasgow's Doors Open Day Festival.
During the tour, you’ll explore our scenic workshops and witness our talented carpenters, metalworkers, prop makers, and painters in action as they bring stunning scenery and props to life. You'll then have the chance to explore our fabulous Costume Department, where our talented team work year-round on period and contemporary tailoring and dressmaking.
On Thursday 18 September, our Elmbank Crescent building will also be open for visitors. No bookings are required.

Overview
Housing departments including the wardrobe, wigs and props departments, scenery, paint shop, LX and carpentry as well as the Outreach and Education team, the many departments at Scottish Opera’s Production Studios work together to bring opera to stages across Scotland.
The venue includes purpose-built rehearsal spaces for The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, and workshops where talented artisans create scenery, props and costumes for Scottish Opera and other theatre companies in Scotland and internationally.
Some of the workshop spaces are not fully accessible for wheelchair users.
There is also parking for bikes.
