Located on the heights of the city, temple of Montivilliers is the only remaining oval-shaped temple in France. It is also the only example known in France (with that of the Bouclier de Strasbourg) built in the form of a mansion, no doubt not to attract attention. With its triangular pediment and ionic columns it is typical of the classical style of the late eighteenth century.
