Overview
The church of Chasseguey whose construction by Antoinette de MOUCHY, widow of Gilles de CARBONNEL, can be dated to the end of the sixteenth century (1586). There is a large tombstone in soft limestone, rare in Avranchin, very interesting by its details and symbols: this funerary slab called Jean d'Argouges, has been the subject of several studies, it would be that of Gilles de CARBONNEL, Viscount of Vire, died in 1502. This stone whose whole side has been cut was restored and sealed to the wall under the bell tower. It represents, engraved in line, a knight armed from foot to head. Accessibility
