Self-guided visit of the House of Auguste Comte
La Maison d'Auguste Comte is an apartment-museum in which lived the French philosopher Auguste Comte (1798-1857). Located at 10 rue Monsieur le Prince, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, it was his last residence from 1841 until his death in 1857. Subsequently, his disciples took care to keep the house that had given birth to his philosophy, respecting the last wishes of their master. Now a museum, the apartment, now owned by an international association dedicated to Auguste Comte, is open for visits. Once past the threshold of the door, the visitor discovers the home of the philosopher who remained as he knew it, with his original furniture and objects belonging to him. The thematic course set up, through a light museographic device that preserves the authenticity of the place, informs the visitor about the philosophy of Auguste Comte.
