Located on the site of the former teacher training school, the memory centre is home to the departmental archives of Meurthe-et-Moselle. Their mission: to preserve and enhance documents, witnesses of the past, so that they can be consulted by current and future generations. The archives were located until then rue de la Monnaie in Nancy, but the storage capacity had reached saturation. The Centre des mémoires Michel-Dinet is composed of four main areas: A building of 28 stores for the conservation of funds, a park and an esplanade, spaces for cultural and educational enhancement (conference room, exhibition, reading, etc.) accessible to all as well as the offices and premises for the processing of archives (classifications, digitizations, etc.). Exhibitions, conferences and animations are regularly offered throughout the year.
