Show "Les ailes d'André"
In November 1936, the French pilot André Japy attempted to carry out a raid from Paris to Tokyo in 100 hours, but crashed on Mount Sefuri, between the departments of Saga and Fukuoka. Seriously injured, he is saved by the inhabitants of the region and returns to France about 4 months later. This accident is today a symbol of the friendship between Japan and France. The project "Les Ailes Rouges" aims to realize the dream that André Japy could not accomplish, by restoring his plane, the Caudron Simoun, to try again the flight Saga-Tokyo, a flight he was never able to do. The play The Wings of André features two women: Yôko, played by Yûko Aoki, and Daphné, by Vanda Benes, friends for over 40 years. Through their dialogues in Japanese and French, they share memories, emotions and reflections, and will follow in the footsteps of André Japy. Carried by the resonance between its history and their own journey, they will go to Beaucourt, Daphné’s hometown in France. The play, in three acts, alternates conversation and narration around André Japy’s accident and its repercussions. With projected images and musical accompaniment (harpsichord, ocarina, percussion), the reading invites the viewer on a journey between two cultures and two eras. Informations Open participation.
