With more than a thousand years of history this large stone vessel, listed as a Historical Monument, invites you to travel through time. The castle, in turn a residence for the count, a stronghold, a royal prison and a barracks, has braved time and countless assaults to become a Pyrenean museum. The fortress, which presents a preserved defensive architecture (keep, drawbridge, harrow), also offers from its ramparts a panorama of the city, the Sanctuary and the Pyrenees.
