St. Vincent Street Church
21 September 2025 (13:00 - 17:00)
Discover the last surviving intact church designed by world-renowned architect Alexander 'Greek' Thomson. This monumental building, perched atop a steeply sloping site, boasts glorious internal decorations. Join us for a tour of the clock tower or explore the exhibition presented by the Alexander Thomson Society.
Overview:
One of Glasgow’s most iconic buildings, used continuously as a place of worship until 2021, and now in need of a creative new use. The very definition of a building “at risk”.
There is no running water in the building, hence no toilet facilities. The stairs to the clock tower are steep and numbers on the tours will be limited. There is ample seating and there will be volunteers on hand to answer questions about the building.
