Take part in a visit to the Museum of Industrial Railway History and a Vélorail Ride!
In the centre of the village of Saint-Lieux-lès-Lavaur, the museum presents a collection of narrow-gauge industrial railway equipment, patiently assembled and restored by the members of the association since 1975. In a hall of 1200 m2, you will discover a unique set illustrating the different modes of railway traction: steam, diesel, gasoline, electric, human… The museum takes you through the history of the industrial railway: mines, salt marshes, sugar factories, quarries, factories, brickworks, dynamiterie and blowing powder. Also discover the military railway of the 14-18 war… It brings together locomotives and wagons from several European and American manufacturers, 7 of which are classified as historic monuments. Educational panels illustrate the history of the Tarn steam tram network. You can also combine a visit to the museum with a vélorail ride. Informations Museum entrance: €4\.
