Overview

The museum presents the collection Gaston Couté (1880-1911), chansonnier and poet of the beginning of the XXth century: photos, drawings, manuscripts, partitions(scores), originals(eccentrics), unpublished of which poem "Redemption" of 1897... You will also discover an archaeological, paleontological and numismatic collection, presented in form of cabinet(office) of curiosity. Numerous flints, cut stones, prehistoric tools, as well as fossils mainly coming from the Mer des Faluns (15 million years) wait for the curious. Finally, a shop window(showcase) bibliophilique with rare and precious works of three big(great) names having made history magdunoise: Jehan de Meung (Roman de la Rose, born in Meung in 1250), Villon (the Big(Great) testament writes in the jails of the castle of Meung) and Dumas (Three musketeers, therefore intrigue begins in the inn of the frank miller of Meung).
