Textile architectural heritage in Bussières
The village of Bussières has a rich history linked to its architectural heritage centered on the textile industry. Flourishing until the 1970s, it left its mark on the architecture of the village. Bussières is lucky to have on its territory - and still visible - three generations of textile factories, from 1894 to the present day. Because yes, the weaving still persists today in Bussières. On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, walk through the streets of the village through its textile architecture and discover the specificities of it, from yesterday to today. You will also have the opportunity to enter an old weaving workshop - the Giraud workshop - today museum reserves. The museum, itself housed in a former active silk factory from 1920 to 1970, welcomes you for free weaving demonstrations on looms from 1800 to the present day. The Forez author Dominique Dejob will also be present to dedicate her book "The Howl of Silences, whose background is the Busseroise textile history.
