Overview

Nestled in a green setting in the heart of the city, the Abbaye de la Cambre reveals its rich dialogue between spiritual heritage and artistic creation. This tour invites you to discover the abbey church and its unique Way of the Cross, whose 17 stations were painted by Anto Carte, an emblematic figure of the Nervia group. The stained glass windows, created by several artists associated with La Cambre - Anto Carte, Jean-Michel Folon, Olivier Strebelle, Charles Navez and Louis Cespin - bear witness to the artistic vitality of the site in the 20th century. Some of them were also professors at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels housed in the former abbey. The visit continues with a tour of the cloister and its garden, a haven of peace steeped in history.
