The 'Big Dig' is a replica ‘Viking House’ workshop and archaeological excavation designed for children from 6 – 12 years of age. Monaghan Heritage Office is delighted to welcome The School of Irish Archaeology and their 'Big Dig' to Rossmore Forest Park in Monaghan. Join us on the 16th of August for free family fun! Slot Times: 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm ( Please note - 40 minutes a slot) No booking required – Limited spaces (12 spaces per slot) First come – First served basis! Funded by The Heritage Council. This educational and one-of-a-kind experience won’t leave your children disappointed. We guarantee it will leave them wanting to know much more about the work of archaeologists and who our ancient ancestors were! Children must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. This is an outdoor event so dress for the weather.
