The Threads of Lore Group was established in 2021. It is a multi skilled group with experienced embroiderers sharing their talents to those with little or no experience of this ancient art. We have been collaborating with professional artists to design a tapestry entitled 'The Boyne in Threads'. This tapestry will have 13 panels and will tell the story of the Boyne Valley from source to sea. We are proud to present a panel of this project during heritage week.

This panel depicts the last journey of the Boyne River before it meets the sea with the tales and folkore associated with the region. Visitors will have an opportunity to view the first panel of this ambitious project during the normal opening hours of Dunshaughlin Library from 17th to 23rd August and can meet some of the embroiderers on Friday 23rd August from 10 am-1pm to see them at work and to discuss the project where they will answer any questions.
