The Calvary and its history
It was in 1866 that Abbé Chevalier announced to the fabricians that he had decided to commemorate the universal jubilee of 1865, wanted by Pope Pius IX, by raising a calvary near the church. The Calvary is solemnly blessed on May 16, 1868 by the bishop surrounded by 15 ecclesiastics and with a very large crowd. This monument is a significant heritage witness of the religious life of the parish during the 2nd part of the 19th century. Apart from the architectural quality of this calvary, it is also a beautiful epigraphic monument with inscriptions in Latin inside the enclosure, and in French outside. This exhibition will be visible near the monument or in the church in case of rain
