Overview

Workshop aimed at delivering an improved understanding of results-based landscape management to the broader Blackstairs Mountains community, encouraging farming and non-farming relationships, and strengthening the foundations for future community stewardship.

The workshop, which is part of a wider "Applied Learning Programme for High Nature Value Landscape Communities", will see contributions from local Farming for Nature Ambassadors and Mentors, along with the local contacts from the ACRES, ASSAP and Farming for Waters Programmes.

As part of Water Heritage Day, LAWCO will explore how our rivers connect the Blackstairs Mountains to the wider Leinster landscape, and Carlow County Council will provide an overview of the range of biodiversity projects currently underway across the Blackstairs Mountains, R. Burrin and R. Mountain catchments (Otter Survey, Catchment Hedgerow Project, Riparian Gaps Survey, Wetlands Survey, etc).

Following the workshop presentations, there will be a guided walk of the Myshall church grounds, to explain the ins and outs of its recent "Plan for Nature".
