Overview

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Mobilier national invites you to discover behind the scenes and its exceptional heritage. Heir to a centuries-old tradition, the establishment opens its doors for a weekend dedicated to transmission and know-how. Come explore a unique place in the heart of Paris, usually closed to the public, and dive into the history of decorative arts through its collections, iconic buildings and the richness of its crafts. Over the course of a weekend, three complementary itineraries will allow visitors to discover the diversity of expertise and the vitality of creation: Parcours A - Les Gobelins (42, avenue des Gobelins) Manufacture of Gobelins tapestry: weaving demonstrations in high-quality. School of textile arts: presentation of training and educational workshops. Gobelins color & colour chart workshop: the science and magic of dyes. Chapelle des Gobelins: presentation of contemporary creations from the manufactures. Route B - National Furniture (1, rue Berbier du Mets) Perret Reserve: chronological presentation of the collections and focus on the ARC. Restoration workshops: discovery of the professions that ensure the conservation of more than 100,000 works (carpentry, carpets, tapestries, tapestry-decor, bronze chandelier...). Underground reserves: immersion in the backstage of state furnishings. Parcours C - Manufactures textiles (1 bis, rue Berbier du Mets) Tapestry Factory of Beauvais: demonstrations of weaving in basse-lice.
