Discover Boyne Valley Tourism are delighted to offer 3 FREE guided tours of the Heritage Site, starting at 10am, 10:45am and 11:30am. The Spire of Lloyd with a 164 narrow step spiral staircase. On a highly significant archaeological site. Designed by Henry Aaron Baker designer of the King’s Inn, Dublin for Thomas Taylour, First Earl of Bective in 1791 and provided work during the time of the local famine.The legendary Queen Maeve (Medbh) was said to camp here with her armies on her way to steal Ulster's prize stud bull in the story of Táin Bó Cúailnge ("The Cattle Raid of Cooley"). Relax and have fun with the family in the playground area at The People`s Park. Online booking is essential: The tour will begin at the Spire (Google Maps P3MV+5R) Please be there 10mins before start time. Cost per adult: FREE 22nd August only Children are Free, must be accompanied by an adult, not suitable for children under 5yrs Free parking Tour duration: 30mins Please note there are no toilet facilities From the hill you can see magnificent views of the surrounding countryside as far as the Mourne Mountains in County Down, Northern Ireland on a clear day.
