The architectural pearls of the past photo competition
The aim of the competition is to show the broadly understood architecture that is a testimony to the heritage of the north-eastern lands of the former Republic of Poland. The winning works will be presented in the form of a large-format exhibition in the center of Białystok.
The exhibition opening will take place on September 19, 2020 at 12:00 at the fence of the Branicki Palace in Białystok (from the side of John Paul II Square, on the right side of the Jerzy Popiełuszko monument).
The main goal of the competition is to show the broadly understood architecture that is a testimony to the heritage of the north-eastern lands of the former Polish Republic. It is important to interpret architectural objects that were important for the local community and are important today due to the testimony of their times, artistic values or the policy of remembrance using various photographic techniques. An integral element of the submitted works must be a description of the photograph, containing information about the place and time of its taking.
The task of the Competition Participants is to take photographs of architectural monuments that can be considered the heritage of the former Republic of Poland. Photographs documenting castles, palaces, religious buildings and manors located in today's Belarus, Lithuania, Latgale (in Latvia) and Podlasie (Poland), which are a testimony to the memory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the achievements of citizens of the Second Polish Republic, are especially awaited.
Each Participant may submit a maximum of 3 works, including one set! Photos should be sent by September 1, 2020.
The organizer will award financial prizes to the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and reserves the right to award distinctions:
1st place - PLN 1000
2nd place - PLN 800
3rd place - PLN 700
