Overview

Located in the heart of the Marais district, inside two sumptuous private mansions, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature is Paris' most unusual and unexpected museum. Upon entering its gates, the visitors penetrate the marvelous world of an art lover who would have entrusted them with the keys to his home. Quirky and far from stereotypes, the museum invites us to reflect on our relationship with the animal world.

An authentic cabinet of curiosities, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature features works by masters of ancient painting such as Rubens, Breughel, Desportes and Chardin, as well as contemporary creations by Jeff Koons, Eva Jospin, Sophie Calle and others. Steeped in an exceptional atmosphere evoking the great French decorative style of the 17th and 18th centuries, the visitor can also discover some astonishing treasures: a unicorn horn, a feathered snake, a wick arquebus, a pheasant-boar chimera...

A magical place for curious minds, perfectly suited to a family visit, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature is a destination for those in search of different experiences to explore Paris off the beaten track!
