La Escuela Taller Micaela Portilla ha convertido la rehabilitación de la torre en un proyecto de formación Es un proyecto de formación integral de personas, en el ámbito de la Rehabilitación Histórica, que ha tenido un gran impacto social en todo su entorno y sus habitantes.
La excursión continua con una visita guiada en un baluarte defensivo sin comparación, la Torre-Palacio de la familia Varona. Es un ejemplo de solidez y fuerza. No solo por la característica e infranqueable arquitectura militar de esta fortaleza; sino que también por la historia que se esconde detrás de su nombre y del apellido de la familia que la habita.
Las torres de Orgaz y Varona son dos ejemplos de que el patrimonio medieval alavés sigue vivo y construyendo el presente de sus comarcas.
