Visit Sauve with the Archistoire app!
Located at the foot of the Coutach massif, where the Vidourle river flows, Sauve is an exceptional medieval village. This small fortified town, backed by the cliff of Coutach and bordered by the Vidourle, testifies to the history of the powerful lords Bermond, who made them their capital. Today, this emblematic city of the Piedmont Cévenol seduces by its cobbled streets, its remains of ramparts and its high towers, recalling its rich past. Sauve is also distinguished by its exceptional natural setting and its two geological curiosities: the Vidourle, which disappears underground to reappear in resurgence, and the Mer des Rochers, a strange limestone chaos dominating the village. Come and discover Sauve with the (free) Archistoire mobile app! This project carried out by the CAUE du Gard in partnership with the municipality of Sauve, is the first Archistoire course in the Gard. It is a national mobile application, cultural and heritage visits, published by the Councils of Architecture of
