Overview
The Peasants' War occurs in the Holy Empire in 1524-1525. Alsace is hit in April 1525, and the paroxysm of this unfinished revolution occurs in May in a particularly violent manner west of the Rhine. This episode is a key moment in the history of Alsace. The exhibition highlights the religious dimension of the conflict: the influence of Luther’s ideas on the peasants' demands, the reformers' criticisms of the insurgents, the Alsatian specificities of the episode, or even the role of the duke of Lorraine. Informations Free admission. Exhibition accessible continuously throughout the afternoon from 2 PM to 6 PM Accessibility
