The history(story) of the castle of Pompadour is closely linked to that of the stud farm in which it is installed(settled) for more than 250 years. Everything begins in the turning point(bend) of the 15th and 16th centuries when Geoffroy de Pompadour transforms a castrum medieval old(former) into a refined castle adorned with decorations(sets), influenced by the beginnings of the Renaissance style. Become the property of the king Louis XV in 1762, the latter(this last) instal(settles) a royal stud farm endowed with a jumenterie there. The castle is only partly destroyed in Revolution, and the stud farm, in turn imperial, royal and national stud farm crosses centuries. Racecourse, merry-go-round(riding school), careers(quarries) and stables are done up or transformed for the good of stud farms, establishing(constituting) a remarkable equestrian heritage today.
