Overview
Carved out in the 12th century, this church, a place of intense emotion, bears witness to the Christian fervour of the Middle Ages. Its primary purpose was to house relics preserved in a series of pits and in a reliquary whose shape was inspired by that of the Holy Sepulchre discovered in Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Its nave rises to a height of 20 metres and its necropolis contains over 80 sarcophagi. The church has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1912. Informations 2€, free - 12 years.
