Overview

The first electron-positron collisions in the world took place at Paris-Sud University in 1963\\. Fifty years later, particle colliders are still at the forefront of basic research, as illustrated by the results of the large LHC collider at CERN. To celebrate this anniversary, the ACO Science Association and the Linear Accelerator Laboratory are opening their doors. On the program: visit of the Ring of Collisions of Orsay (ACO), included in the additional inventory of Historical Monuments; visit of the Museum of Light and Associated Matter; conferences and meetings with researchers; exposures to accelerators and cosmic rays. All in partnership with the cities of Orsay and Bures sur Yvette.
