The mission of the Departmental Archives of the Seine-Saint-Denis is the collection, material conservation, classification and description as well as the communication of documents to the public and the patrimonial enhancement. The preserved collections include the archives of the former departments of the Seine and Seine-et-Oise, parish registers and registers of civil status, religious and personal archives, notarial archives, prints and postcards. They also include the archives on the creation of the department, the archives of the general council, those of the prefecture and the devolved services of the State, as well as those of the actors of the department (associations, unions, companies, municipalities...). Using the preserved funds, they organize educational activities, including history workshops and itineraries to learn about the history of the Seine-Saint-Denis.
