Overview
🏰 A lair saved from ruin: 40 years of restoration to discover
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, come and discover one of the rare noble havens still existing, saved from ruin thanks to 40 years of passionate restoration.
During semi-guided tours, the owner will share with you the eventful history of this house, once a stronghold of the prestigious family of the Hospitallers of Gozon, refugee here after the attack of their castle of Costes Gozon by the English. You will pass through the guard room decorated with trophies, the souillarde and its beautiful collection of brass, the chamber of the chaplain in its 18th century decor, or even the apartment of the milkmaid, faithful testimony of the rural habitat of the 19th century. The Gozon room, with its family tree, will immerse you in the epic of Dieudonné of Gozon and his fight against the dragon of the island of Rhodes. You will also be able to explore four new rooms, including the mysterious "Vermeer" room, and access the floors of the south tower. Finally, do not miss the three gardens that surround the castle, real havens of peace to close the visit on a bucolic and inspiring note. Informations Rate: 5 €, free for children under 10 years old. Without reservation.
