Closed for 25 years for security reasons, the church of Notre-Dame de Courtefontaine will be exceptionally open on the occasion of the European Heritage Days. The visit will be free (support for visits available) or accompanied by members of the association of friends of the church. A presentation with a time for exchanges will be proposed at 5 PM. It will be an opportunity to honour this building which belongs to the Romanesque architectural heritage in a unique way: unlike other Romanesque churches of the Jura, it has kept its original harmony and homogeneity, without undergoing architectural modifications over the ages. Since the building is now in danger, the association will present the prospects for a renewal. The association of friends of the church Notre-Dame de Courtefontaine was created in December 2024 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the classification as a historical monument of the church.
