Overview

Discover or rediscover the church of Saint Aubin

The medieval church was burned on May 23, 1794, when the Chouans stormed it to flush out the Republicans. The current church is a large neo-Gothic building. The stained glass windows of the church show the arrest of parish priest Noël Pinot and his judgment by the military commission. In the nave, one can see an engraving showing Noël Pinot going up to the scaffold place du Ralliement in Angers. To discover in the church: in the transept, the chest or bread box in which Noël Pinot was found hidden before being stopped by the soldiers and the document of the Pinot Christmas judgment which is presented in an arcade to the right of the nave.
